- We all know Canary updates daily. It & Dev are both 89s, now. The 2 items Canary says are 'New' are, actually, not new to this version (had them, already) AND they are, also, in Dev, now. Dev is 89.0.723 Canary is 729, now. Canary, now, same as Dev does both Vertical Tabs AND Sleeping tabs by default, no flag needing to be Enabled, anymore.
- Microsoft Edge Canary now lets you sort Collections by name, date created, and recently used. Before this update, you could only sort items within Collections. The new option appears to have rolled.
- Edge Canary is the most unstable build of all the versions and it is updated regularly with fixes or major changes.
Strange goin's on this mornin' I opened up Edge Canary as usual and started on my daily routine. When I opened up mspoweruser.com and started scrolling through the articles I got a message saying that This site was having problems please come back later, yadda, yadda, yadda. There were a couple of others sites.
The Chromium-based Edge browser is getting a new feature that makes text clearer, rounder, and easier to read when you browse the web. The feature is called ClearType, which is a technology only available on the Windows side that can improve the readability of text, especially on LCD displays.
In the latest Edge Canary channel version Build 91.0.862.0, Microsoft added the ClearType Flag, but it seems to have been deleted in today’s update (91.0.863.0). In the Flag description, Microsoft pointed out that this feature is unique to Windows 10 and can adjust contrast and font rendering.

The flag that has been deleted states: “Use the same contrast and gamma settings as elsewhere in Windows to render text. Run ClearType Text Tuner to adjust the contrast and gamma settings of the monitor.”
The experimental flag in Microsoft Edge will allow the browser to respect your ClearType setting. As mentioned earlier, the ClearType text tuner is built into the operating system. When Windows cannot handle font rendering on some monitors, adjusting your ClearType settings will help. Once enabled, Edge will support ClearType’s multi-color shadows, and text on some websites will appear more readable and smoother, especially on LCD monitors where fonts often look jagged.
