Backblaze Pricing

Mar 30, 2021 With unlimited online storage for one computer for $60 a year, Backblaze is the most affordable backup service we tested. It’s easy to use on both Windows and Mac. With the software installed. Apr 01, 2021 Another strong benefit of Backblaze that I can't not mention is the option to upgrade your version history from 30 days to a year or even forever.Unlimited versioning means that Backblaze has the ability to keep old versions of files forever. Backblaze recommends that you do lots of transfers simultaneously for maximum speed. In tests from my SSD equipped laptop the optimum setting is about -transfers 32 though higher numbers may be used for a slight speed improvement. The optimum number for you may vary depending on your hardware, how big the files are, how much you want to load.

How to setup policy for Backblaze backup

The policy in AhsayCBS allows administrator to: a). Enable / disable users to back up to their own Backblaze accounts, and b). Enable / disable users to back up to a dedicated Backblaze account predefined in AhsayCBS.

To enable users to back up to their own Backblaze accounts:

Reinstall

Go to 'AhsayCBS web console > Backup / Restore > Users, Groups & Policies > Policy Group'. Select an existing policy or create a new policy. Then, enable the feature 'Backup Set Settings > Destination Visible to Users'. After this feature is enabled, you can add 'Backblaze' under Standard Destination.

Then, assign users to an appropriate User Group that is bound to this policy, and these users will be able to back up to their own Backblaze accounts.

To enable users to back up to a dedicated Backblaze account predefined in AhsayCBS:

You need to create a Predefined Destination first by going to 'AhsayCBS web console > System Settings > Basic > Predefined Destinations' and adding a dedicated Backblaze account there.

After the above step, go to 'AhsayCBS web console > Backup / Restore > Users, Groups & Policies > Policy Group'. Select an existing policy or create a new policy. Then, enable the feature 'Backup Set Settings > Destination Visible to Users' and add the predefined 'Backblaze' under Predefined Destination.

Then, assign users to an appropriate User Group that is bound to this policy, and these users will be able to choose the predefined Backblaze account as the backup destination. As you can see from the following image, only the customized destination name will be shown. The Backblaze image will not be shown. Therefore, if you don't want the backup users to known the type of destination used, you can simply enter a name without the destination type, such as My Backup Server.
